The AGO ago...

Unlike the YSL show in Montreal, I knew I wasn't supposed to take pictures in the AGO. Only in designated areas... While Frank Gehry's addition to the AGO really takes the structure of the AGO to a new and definitely world class level, I still feel like the content could get better. I just did a quick walk through, and recognized a lot of pieces from past visits. Many of them I had photographed in earlier days when that was allowed. Shot in black and white with a Nikon FM2 35mm film camera. Wow. No question there is a lot of stuff to see at the AGO, and some big hitters like Warhol's Elvis and a massive Riopelle... Why is it I think they should have more pieces of that magnitude. I'm not done yet, I'll be back to the AGO for a more in depth study of the new offerings. I love what's happening on level four and five.

More wintery stuff... Really looking forward to the melt though!

The ROM Crystal Edition

I'm not sure about the crystal thing, there wasn't a lot of it to go around. I guess since the first inception of the crystal concept, somewhere along the way they realized that the UV radiation would degrade all of the exhibits. Not so crystal after all, from within it's very difficult to see outside. It was an interesting use of the new space. It for sure raised the price of admission though. Next stop the AGO... No photos allowed?
